We sent 1,200 real applications through the three largest job boards and logged what happened to each one for 60 days.
What came back
Forty-one per cent received nothing at all. Not a rejection, not an auto-reply. A further 22% got a rejection more than a month after the role had closed. Only 9% led to a conversation with a person.
Why it happens
Reposted and expired listings account for most of the silence. A role that closed in June is still collecting applications in September because the board never checked the source. That is the whole reason Filament reads the careers page instead.
